The Platte Valley Fire Protection District wanted to redesign their outdated, simple patch to a modern, progressive design.
The new fire department patch design incorporates the following:
- Pays homage to the FDNY by utilizing a similar layout/outline;
- Includes a mountain line that is exactly as the Rocky Mountains appear as viewed from the district;
- Includes a river, similar to the Platte River, which runs through the district;
- The american flag as a part of the Maltese cross and star of life symbols.
- The Maltese cross and star of life represent both the fire and emergency medical/rescue services the department provides.
The design was utilized to make new patches for uniforms, as well as screen printing and embroidery and decals for apparatus and members.
